Job Description
DeSales has just completed an academic restructuring and will be moving from divisions to colleges - some with schools. The search for deans for each of the four colleges has begun. There will be a College of Arts, Education, & Humanities, comprised of a School of Performing Arts (Departments of Dance, Theater, & TV/Film), School of Education (Departments of Teacher Ed, Higher Education - the only stand-alone graduate department) & Exploratory Studies), the Department of Humanities, and the Department of Philosophy and Theology. This is a rather unique college configuration, and we want to be sure that we find a pool of candidates from which to select a person that can meet the challenge required for leading programs (undergraduate and graduate) that are currently very successful.

Qualifications
Candidates must hold a doctorate or equivalent terminal degree in a field relevant to the college and have familiarity with the Catholic intellectual tradition. The successful candidate will possess the ability to build relationships and collaborations with regional school districts and other community partners. The candidate will also possess organizational leadership skills that include significant fiscal management experience, program management, curricular oversight, and student support. Prior responsibility for budgets, personnel decisions, performance reviews, and decisions for promotion and tenure at the chair level or above is preferred. Proven successful experience in recruiting and retaining students for both existing and new programs is also preferred.
This is administrative 12- month full-time position.
